The Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, KS was big fun. We played a bunch, reconnected with some of the finest folks it has been our good fortune to meet and returned exhausted but happy to rejoin our schedule already in progress.I received these Winfield photos

WWe were saddened to learn on Wednesday, November 12,1997 of the death of Brian Redford, son of Kendra and Bob Redford. A scholarship fund for Brian's two children has been established. More information is available at Don Shorock's Home Page

Our friend and musical compadre Raul Reynoso has released his new CD "Royal Street", a fun collection of 13 songs and tunes in the style of the late, great gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt which we are pleased to be able to offer for sale on this site along with ours(!) using your credit card as well as directing you to Raul via phone and fax for purchase using check or money order.
I still have the review of Raul's CD by Paul Shelasky and I have seen print copies of some other raves in guitar magazines, the particulars of which I will post when this senior moment passes...
Some of you may have heard Raul with his 'other band' New West (Raul, Michael Fleming, David Jackson) who are hard at work on their second offering on CD, due early 1998. Should they somehow get it in time for Christmas I will tell you immediately!
Marley's Ghost play Girdis Guitars Rob Girdis does not yet produce the quantities of some of the more well-known luthiers (new shop under construction!), but the unsurpassed quality of his guitars is identifying him as an emerging master luthier among the cognoscenti of the Great NorthWest.
Rob sent me two beautiful photos of guitars he made I am far behind on the progress of Rob's new shop - I was headed up to see it but life intervened ... ah well... he has a roof (good idea in Seattle, eh? ) and is "attacking the floor" as he puts it. Rob took time off from his shop project and came to Winfield with us, managing our product booth -- a friend indeed. THIS JUST IN DEPT.: I asked Rob for new Shop and Guitar photos... and got this... ... some of Rob's neighbors overseeing the construction...?
