Raul Reynoso lives in Southern California where he sings and plays countless styles of acoustic and electric music with equal facility on guitar and mandolin. After replacing Dick Hardwick as a member of the Thunder Mtn. Boys in Disneyland and developing, with John Jorgenson, their alter egos The Rhythm Brothers on Bourbon Street for over 10 years, Raul has what might be called a devastating command of his instruments. I asked Raul about the name of the CD and he replied"...I took Dick Hardwick's place at Disneyland and played with John for about three years, during which time the "Rhythm Brothers" were born. We played swing in the French Market area, on "Royal St.", where some of the songs on the CD were first played..." His evident love of the music and his selection of fellow Rhythm Brothers Doug Mattocks (rythym guitar), Charlie Warren (bass) and Dick Hardwick (drums) with special guests the legendary Johnny Frigo of Chicago (violin) and perhaps the strongest unknown player of the decade, Bob Reitmeier (clarinet) has ensured a tight, beautifully detailed ride down the grand avenue of swing from the era of Django Reinhardt, greatest of the Gypsy jazz guitarists of prewar Paris. This is by no means Raul's first recording, but it is the first to feature him in the spotlight ... he wears it well. Mike Phelan | February, 1997

Raul Reynoso is driven by his love of music. His spectacular guitar technique, which could be a weapon in the wrong hands, is the medium rather than the message. He wields it with taste and maturity. What I enjoy most about his playing is the way he has thoroughly absorbed various, rich traditions without becoming their slave. His own touch is always evident, whether playing music born in the 30s and 40s as if it were just written, or creating new music which seems as though it has always been here.
